Maintaining clear camera lenses is essential for effective nighttime video monitoring.

The Problem

The built-in IR illuminators cause spider webbing on the face of the camera to be illuminated as white strings, blocking the ability to clearly see an intruder in the background.

During daytime operation, spider webs are barely noticeable. However, when infrared illuminators activate at night, they reflect brightly off web strands, creating white obstruction that significantly degrades image quality and compromises security effectiveness.

Regular visual inspection of camera housings is necessary to remove accumulated spider webs. Clearing these obstructions directly improves nighttime video clarity and surveillance reliability.

Impact

This preventive maintenance measure proves critical for security purposes. Maintaining clear camera lenses could make the difference between a thwarted break-in and an unseen intruder.
